The Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal has enrolled as the 19th member Country of International Sericultural Commission with effect from 8th June, 2017. ISC has taken necessary action for notifying the Membership among all its Member Countries.

In order strengthen the Silkworm Seed Production Networks in Member Countries, ISC has organized a 10 days intensive training on Mulberry Silkworm Seed Production Technology at Bangalore, India during 17-26 September 2018. The training was conducted in the Silkworm Seed Production Centre of the National Silkworm Seed Organization, Central Silk Board, Bangalore, India.

Central Silk Board, Ministry of Textiles, Bangalore, India and International Society for Wild Silk Moths have jointly organized the 8th International Conference on Wild Silk Moths at Hotel Radisson Blu Guwahati, India during 22nd to 24th January 2018.

A 5 member Uzbek delegation led by Mr. Sh. Achilov, Deputy Chairman, Uzbekipaksanoat (an association of Uzbek silk industry stakeholders), Uzbekistan visited the sericulture areas of Karnataka India during 24th & 25th July, 2017 to study the successful model of commercial sericulture practice developed in India.

During the XXV ISC Conference held at Guwahati, India on 25th January 2018, Mr. Rajit Ranjan Okhandiar, nominated by the Government of India has been elected as the Secretary General of International Sericultural Commission for a period of three years starting from 1st January 2019. Currently, Mr.
