The 25th International Congress on Sericulture and Silk Industry, Tsukuba, JAPAN

 

1. Date and Venue

The Congress will be held on 19th - 22nd November 2019 at Tsukuba International Congress Center EPOCHAL, 2-20-3 Takezono, Tsukuba, Ibaraki, 305-0032 Japan.

 

2. Theme: Silk beyond the textile

Sericulture and silk industry is expected play important roles in new fields to produce various materials, such as pharmaceutical drugs, as well as in conventional fiber and textile production.

 

3. Aims of the congress

The triennial Congress of the International Sericultural Commission will provide a precious opportunity for scientists and students to share latest researches in the fields sericulture and silk including various silkworms, host plants, post-cocoon technology, silk processing, economy, and so on. The assembly of delegates from silk producing and consuming countries is also expected to be advantageous for those in silk-related business to promote mercantile economic relations.

7.1. Overall program

7.2. Oral presentations

Each paper will be given 15 minutes for presentation and discussion (12 minutes for presentation and 3 minutes for discussion) while keynote paper will be given 30 minutes for presentation and discussion. A room for each section will be equipped with a LCD projector.

 

7.3. Poster Presentation

The poster display will be arranged at a meeting room. The poster presentation will be given 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes for presentation and discussion on the second day of the congress.

 

Each poster will be allotted a display board 90 cm x 210 cm (width x height). All illustrations must be brought by the authors.

 

7.4. Exhibition

An exhibition to introduce Japanese latest and traditional silk industry will be held.

 

7.5. Executive committee meeting

A meeting of the executive committee will be held on 18th November 2019.

 

 

 

7.6. Program for accompanying persons

A day-trip around Tsukuba city will be arranged for accompanying persons on 20th November 2019.

 

7.7. Post-congress tour

Optional tours will be arranged on 23rd November 2019, to Tokyo or Nikko, tentatively, with extra charge (about 10,000 yen). Details will be announced after May 2019.

Research papers should be given as a Microsoft Word file, typed with Times New Roman, 14 pt, and A4-sized with 30-mm margins. It will include a title, author names, affiliations, addresses including e-mail addresses, an abstract in less than 200 words and references. It should not exceed five pages including figures and tables.
