Mr. Rajit Ranjan Okhandiar
Mr. Rajit Ranjan Okhandiar is a Senior Officer from the elite Indian Forest Service (I.F.S.) Cadre of Government of India. He has credited with three Master Degrees; (1) Masters in Geo-informatics & Remote Sensing from Indian Institute of Remote Sensing, Dehradun, India and International Institute for Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation (ITC), Enschede, Netherlands, (2) Masters in Forestry from Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy, Dehradun, India, and (3) Masters in Physics from Patna University, India.
Currently, Mr. RajitRanjan Okhandiar also holds the post of Chief Executive Officer in Central Silk Board, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. Central Silk Board (CSB) is the National Agency working for the overall development of sericulture and silk industry in the country. The activities of CSB are; research & development, the regulatory authority on seed production, provide leadership for seed production and extension, silk promotion, advising the Union Government for framing and implementing policy requirements, and support and assist Provincial Governments for the development of the industry.
Mr. RajitRanjan Okhandiar had rendered his services in various Government Departments of Union and Provincial Governments for the last 30 years, mainly focussing on integrating sustainable developmental activities while preserving the natural eco-systems for providing meaningful employment opportunities to the weaker sections of the society, especially women.
